Welcome to our Nursery Class Page!

    In Nursery we...

    • Learn to share and take turns
    • Make friends and develop relationships with different adults
    • Are always kind and helpful
    • LOVE playing inside and outside
    • Sometimes get messy!

But we ALWAYS have lots of FUN everyday!

We have begun to learn some basic ball skills in PE with Mr Hitchings this week. We played a very fun game called 'body parts' and we had to put different body parts onto the ball, including feet, tummy nose, ear and...bottom! We did very good listening in PE.

This week in Nursery we have learnt all about...Frogs!

Ask your child to tell you what they know - you will be amazed! We made some frogs of our own and learnt some new vocabulary words - frogspawn, tadpole, froglet and amphibian! We also learnt the frog counting song...https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p07795jn/numberblocks-numbersongs-five-little-speckled-frogs

Our new topic is...Let It Grow!

We have talked to the children about different things that grow and have planted seeds in our garden and classroom. The children have loved looking at the daffodils and painting their own representations.

Can you spot any daffodils or other flowers on your way to Nursery or in your garden?

We have been listening to, and learning some number songs, and counting in Maths.

Can you practise singing along and counting at home?

This week in Nursery we have been continuing our learning of 'Celebrations' by teaching the children all about 'Remembrance Day'. We made our own paper poppies and held a 2 minute silence at 11am. We talked about remembering soldiers that have died in the war and those that have been hurt and injured.

Well what a busy week we have had in Nursery this week!  We have been introduced to our new topic of 'Celebrations' with a bang learning all about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night and have made some amazing creations of fireworks and bonfires using chalks, glitter, leaves and paper!

We then learnt about the Hindu festival of light called 'Diwali' where they celebrate by setting off Fireworks and lighting up the night sky as well as lighting dia lamps, using candles. We tried to make our own lamps out of playdough and plastic gems and sequins and some Rangoli pattern pictures.

We spotted the moon in the sky at outside time, today,

and thought it must be night time?

We have enjoyed playing in the Farm Shop outside - though Mrs Lisle got a big shock at the price of 1 apple...£25 pounds!!

We have been learning the names of 2D shapes and made circle shaped biscuits! They were delicious mmmmm!

We have had so much fun, going into the big Hall, for PE and playing games with Mr Hitchings!

This week in Nursery we have been learning about houses and talking about who lives in our house.

    We built houses using bricks...
     ...and loose parts.

We also talked about the different rooms in our houses and what we do in them. We then helped Mrs Lisle to sort some pictures.

We love to play outdoors in the Nursery garden...

We love to paint our own pictures!
We can hold a paintbrush           correctly in Nursery.

We have been learning about different colours and exploring with paint!

We even mixed up paint and made new colours! It was VERY exciting!

We found some objects in the classroom that were the same colour and we learnt actions to the Rainbow song...
