Dear Families and Friends,
Have you got over the events of last Sunday afternoon? For fans of football, and of "The Toon" in particular, it was a very memorable day that I am sure will live in the memory of our young people for their whole lives. In the future, they may not remember all the details, but they will definitely be able to relive the emotions and feelings of these past few days.
Memories are very special. We want the children's time at St Bart's to be one that they look back on with fondness, as we aim to create very special moments in their childhood, whilst equipping them for their future lives.
Our PTA plays an essential part in this, organising events, not just to raise money, but to add more to our lives than we could do by ourselves. This week, we managed to gain full access to the PTA bank account again, so the money that you have raised can now be put to good use. Already ordered are new IT resources for the children, which should be ready for straight after Easter, and a list of new books is being drawn up to get into the children's hands as soon as possible. Thank you for everything you do to help.
Sadly, our standard, limited budget does not allow for many of the things we want to do, and every little really does help. That's why our Quiz Night will be good fun, and also helpful in providing resources for the children. If you haven't done so, please buy your ticket from the office this week, and come along for a couple of hours on Friday night.
We've also just launched our Annual Easter Egg Challenge for 2025. It has been 12 years since we made this into a big school event, so the theme this year is "A Dozen". I am sure that you can help the children think of ideas around the number 12 to make this another fun memory. As usual, there are 3 categories:
The egg creations will be displayed in the Teaching Hall, on the final Wednesday of term, and you are very welcome to pop in to see them - with some PTA refreshments to accompany the event.
On Friday afternoon, Class 6 returned from their residential visit to Robinwood Activity Centre, and Class 3 from their visit to Sunderland Empire. With Wednesday's Class 5 visit to the Baltic, as well as the usual great learning that takes up most of our time, it has really been another memory-making week at St Bart's. So, together, let's make the rest of this term just as exciting.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
