    St Bart's News

The latest information about school and our community

    Dear Families and Friends,

You probably noticed that last week's news email contorted the images slightly. They appear fine when viewed directly on our website, but were a bit squished when they arrived in some direct emails. Sorry about that. We are working on a fix for next week. In the meantime, we will continue to upload images to our Class Pages, so please take a look there.

On the Class Pages, you should also find copies of the homework sheets that we send home. Homework is an important part of learning when done correctly. There are various views of its impact, but we know that regular practice of reading and basic maths skills does help the children. The other thing that really helps is talking about learning. We are getting the children to think about what they want to achieve each week and then reflecting on whether they have achieved it. Why not have that regular weekend conversation with your children too.

On Thursday, we have our discos. Have you bought your tickets(s)? The younger children will need an adult to stay with them but, if you are free, the PTA would appreciate a bit of help tidying up towards the end of the evening too.

This Harvest-time, we are supporting The BAY Foodbank again. Here is a list of the things that they would appreciate:

    • Tinned Meat in Gravy/Chilli/Curry/Stew
    • Tinned Meat (Spam etc)
    • Tinned Pies
    • Hot Dogs
    • Meatballs
    • Tinned Custard
    • Tinned Fruit (Peaches etc)
    • Tinned Vegetables (Sweetcorn, Peas etc)
    • Tinned Pasta (Spaghetti/Hoops/Macaroni etc)
    • Tinned/Packet Potatoes
    • Long Life Milk
    • Rice Pudding
    • Savoury Snacks (Crisps etc)
    • Sweet Snacks (Chocolate etc)
    • Biscuits
    • Jam/Spread
    • Tinned Fish (Tuna etc)
    • Soup
    • Baby Food (Tins/Jars/Packet)
    • Coffee/Tea Bags
    • Toiletries (Shower Gel/Soap Bars etc)

Please bring any donations into school in the coming week. Thank you.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Yours sincerely,

Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
