    St Bart's News

The latest information about school and our community

    Dear Families and Friends,

Do ever wish you had a magic wand and could make all of life's difficulties just fade away? Sadly, this kind of trick is all an illusion. Life poses difficulties to young and old alike, and the wave of a wand is not the solution. Sometimes, we overcome the challenges of life through grit and determination, often with the help and support of others. We must also realise that, what we may find easy, others may find difficult. We should not presume or assume that everyone begins in the same place. We need to be patient with each other, support each other and show compassion towards everyone. If we find something easy, we can use our talent for the good of someone who struggles in the same area. And when someone takes even a small step forward, this achievement needs to be acknowledged.

In school, we finish each Friday by celebrating the achievements of the children and our school. We ask ourselves the question, "What have been our achievement highlights of the week?" and then give ourselves a few moments to reflect and remember these. It is worth the mental effort, as we can often forget those smaller steps along with way to bigger achievements. On MarvellousMe, you can do something similar. You can create a personal "Memory Book" of the different badges and activities each week, month or year. Why not have a go in the coming week and share those memories with the children? As you reflect together, these will stick in the children's minds, helping them remember all that they have learned.

On Wednesday, we will be having our first PTA meeting of the year. This is open to all St Bart's parents, so do please come along and join in. Working in partnership with you is what we are all about, providing the best experiences we can for all of our children. It's at 6pm in Class 6. Just come to the classroom door at the back of the building.

One final reminder: we love our wildlife at St Bart's, including our pets, but please do not bring dogs onto the site. Thank you.

    Yours sincerely,

Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
