Dear Families and Friends,
As we begin 2025, let's remind ourselves of the importance of being hopeful. With the difficulties and challenges that life brings, January can be an opportunity to look ahead and consider how we want things to be even better. This doesn't mean we should just sit in our wishful thinking. We can all be agents of change, in our own way. Underpinned by our core Biblical values, as our children develop in their character, they too will be able to have a positive impact on the world around them, now and in their futures. As parents, wider family members and staff, our role is to guide them and create the climate and conditions for our children to flourish. Working together, in partnership, imagine what opportunities we can give our children!
A key role in this partnership is our school PTA. You are all part of it, but it won't be successful unless we all play our part. Come along to the next short meeting on Tuesday evening at 6pm. Without you, we are limited in what we can do.
Each term, our staff aim to provide interesting and enjoyable extra-curricular clubs for the children. Our aim is to provide wider opportunities, beyond the regular curriculum, that they may not be able to access elsewhere. At times, some clubs are by invitation, as they have a performance focus for an upcoming event. Others are open to all of a particular age. Most come at no extra cost to you, as they are led by our school staff who give up their own time to serve further. Here is the list for this term, with days. Bookable clubs will start on 28th January, following our next training day.
We also offer a variety of other clubs that run throughout the week, including Mr Hitchings' Gymnastics (invitation), Mrs Lisles' KS1 Singing, Mrs Marshall's Sewing and Mrs Whitaker's KS2 Choir. Other clubs will pop up once final arrangements have been made, or when the weather improves. And, once the afternoons get brighter, many of our outside sports will begin again.
Bookable clubs will go on School Gateway at the end of this Monday afternoon, . This is also our portal for school visits and event payments, including our popular Activities and Breakfast Clubs. Do remember to book. It's first come-first served.
So, let us all hold out hope for 2025 and beyond, doing all we can for our children's futures.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
